FEEDING

Occupational Therapists and Speech and Language Pathologists at Thinkering Kids are trained in DIR® Floortime Model and the Sequential-Oral-Sensory (S.O.S.) Approach to Feeding.

Following these approaches, our therapists get children ready to increase the types of food they eat, and resolve other feeding challenges they face.

Your trusting, loving and caring relationship with your child has a profound effect on creating positive associations with food and improving their overall eating experience.

PARENT COACHING

Parent Coaching sessions are based on DIR® Floortime model. Sessions focus on empowering you, the parent, the be more deeply connected with your child and to help them grow and reach their fullest potential.

Our sessions provide support to understand your child’s strengths and challenges, as well as to gain strategies and tools to promote engagement, back-and-forth interactions, play, shared attention, thinking, creativity, problem solving, and more. All while enjoying interacting with them.

NEURONET

The NeuroNet program combines rhythmic movement tasks with academic exercises to help children strengthen fundamental skills like reading, writing and math. 

NeuroNet targets the auditory, visual, and motor system in order to strengthen neural connections which lay the groundwork
for all learning.

Occupational therapists and Speech language pathologists both incorporate NeuroNet across
sessions to address client’s individual goals
related to  motor coordination, letter and number recall, writing, and reading fluency
to allow for greater independence
and success in the classroom.

WRITING AND THINKING

We offer handwriting help in groups and individual sessions that are presented in a fun, interactive way. We follow the highly-recognized Handwriting Without Tears® curriculum.

These sessions focus on the foundational skills of handwriting including attention span, posture, fine motor skills, pencil grasp, letter recognition, letter formation and writing fluency.
